Hi! My name is Ally Pinto Scott and I am thrilled to be joining the Wildflower team part- time!
My background in early childhood development has encouraged me to pursue a career in child and adolescent mental health. I obtained my Master's degree in 2020 and worked as a School Counselor for 5 years. In doing so I provided individual counseling, leading therapeutic groups, and managing crisis intervention. Recently, I moved into a case manager role in Knox County Schools to gain clinical hours towards my LPC-MHSP.
I am experienced in providing therapeutic interventions to children with trauma backgrounds, Anxiety, Autism, ADHD, etc as it relates to their everyday world in the home and at school. I find passion in providing families with tools that are gentle, yet effective, interventions to challenge unhelpful thought patterns and promote emotional resilience. I incorporate techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) as well as integrating mind-body connection, helping children and teens to feel more grounded and in control. I strongly value the importance of parent/guardian support and involvement!
Having a little one of my own, I find worth in meeting children where they are with empathy and respect. Outside of work you would find myself, husband, 2 year old son and dog Barley outside! Our son keeps us on our toes and constantly exploring. We love experiencing the world through his eyes and I love the perspective that motherhood has added to my professional world. I look forward to joining forces with Wildflower Children's Counseling to support the needs of the children in our community!
