Justyce Ahnert, MSSW

Hi there! I am Justyce Ahnert, a child therapist who is passionate about helping kids heal, grow, and thrive. I recently graduated from the University of Tennessee’s College of Social Work with my Master’s in Social Work and a Trauma Treatment Graduate Certification (Go Vols!). I am currently pursuing licensure as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW).

I bring experience as both a school social worker and a behavior intervention assistant in an elementary school setting — roles that deepened my love for working with children and their families. I use a combination of trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), child-centered play therapy, and attachment-based therapy to support emotional healing and growth. I also offer Christian counseling services upon client request.

My approach is rooted in meeting clients where they are. I believe in creating a nonjudgmental, welcoming space where children and their families feel safe, seen, and supported. I’m passionate about empowering families with practical tools that they can carry with them outside of the therapy room, helping to create lasting change beyond our sessions.

I have a special heart for working with children ages 5 and up, and I see it as a true privilege to walk alongside them through life’s challenges.

When I’m not in the therapy room, I can usually be found spending time with my husband, Daniel, and our three cats — Luna, Murphy, and Motley. I love fishing on a quiet day, getting lost in a good book, and binge-watching the latest reality TV shows!
